BIOLOGICAL FLORA OF THE BRITISH ISLES APPROXIMATELY 180 PARTS, (Desmond, Ray. Donald, Duncan. Mathew, Brian.)
10 (Desmond, Ray. Donald, Duncan. Mathew, Brian.) BIOLOGICAL FLORA OF THE BRITISH ISLES APPROXIMATELY 180 PARTS
Paperback Good
A splendid collection of approximately 180 of these accounts. This accounts for over half of those published, and virtually none of these is now in print. Publication is still ongoing, but those offered here were published between 1945 and 1994. All are slim paperbacks, were reprinted from Journal of Ecology, and appearance varies slightly over the years - the earlier issues being straight extracts, and the later ones in a variety of covers. The detail within each is excellent, with descriptions, habitats, communities, distribution maps, phenology, floral biology, history and extensive references. For many species the plants is put in its European context also, with many interesting notes. Condition: only slightly worn generally, with a few of the earlier issues being a little creased or worn. [This series of articles is a separate section of autecological accounts, originally published in Journal of Ecology alongside the journal’s other articles, but with its own Editor and team of Associate Editors. The Editor of the Biological Flora series, Anthony Davy, is Professor of Ecology at the University of East Anglia, Norwich, UK. Over three hundred accounts of the Flora of the British Isles have been published to date. Accounts cover both common and endangered species.].
