BAILEYA - A Quarterly Journal of Horticultural Taxonomy. Volume 1 to Volume 16, (lacking only two parts), a splendid long run

Price: £85.00

Quantity: 1 available

Book Condition: Very Good

A run from Volume 1 number 1 (March 1953), through to Volume 16 number 4 (Winter 1968), lacking two parts - Volume 12 part 3 and Volume 15 part 1. Plus the Cumulative Indices for the first ten volumes (issued as a supplement to Volume 11). Published by The Liberty Hyde Bailey Hortorium, Cornell University. Each part usually contains between six and ten articles. These are frequently monographic, and often deal with more minor or obscurer, but still horticulturally important, genera. I have noticed: Reviews of Eucryphia, Cortusa, Musa, Oxalis, Lycoris, Blechnum, Platycerium, Papaver, Adiantum, Polypodium. Keys to Cultivated Plants - Lychnis, Autumn Crocus, Spring Crocus, Araliaceae, Solanum, Ipomopsis, Podocarps, Deutzia. Notes on Plants - Datura, Alonsoa, Linaria, Veronica, Arnica, Liatris, Lysimachia, Ligularia, Dodecatheon, Blandfordia, Hibiscus, Maianthemum, Onopordon, Lachenalia. Together with many other articles such as L.H. Bailey's expeditions, Rock's Expedition to North-West China, Flower and Fruit Keys to the Ornamental Crabapples, Vegetative Key to Aquarium Plants, New World Peppers etc. There are many, many dozens more. Even odd parts of Baileya rarely seem to hit the secondhand market - a quick search on ABE currently only brings up one listing!. Long runs such as this one are extremely uncommon. In very good condition. A RARE OPPORTUNITY. [A heavy set - extra postage will be required.]
